Movies Starring Detroit

Motor City is an amazing place and it’s skyline has been featured in more than one motion picture. If you’re scrolling through the direct star tv channels this weekend keep an eye out for Detroit in some of these hit films.
8 Mile: Perhaps a little grittier than most, 8 Mile shows the town in a whole new light. Eminem is the pride of Detroit and he certainly pays homage to his roots so it’s worth a watch to see the city shine.
Dreamgirls: It’s a historical account of Detroit in the 50s and there’s a lot to be said for the treatment of the race-relations story in this movie. Either way, it shows Detroit back in its glory days and it makes for a really nostalgic look at the town.
Four Brothers: Starring a great mix of stars (including Mark Whalberg), Four Brothers is a cop film with heart that shows off Detroit in a real light. It’s not always pretty but they’re all about town which makes for a fun viewing experience if you’re in it for the scenery.
