Uncover The Past With The Broderick Tower
Eaton Tower was constructed between 1926 and 1928. It was the second tallest sky scraper in Michigan with 34 floors. This tower was named after Theodore Eaton Jr. who was a Detroit importer of chemicals and dyes. In 1945 a Detroit insurance broker, David Broderick bought the tower and renamed it Broderick Tower. Mr. Broderick passed away in 1955. Between 1963 and 1976 ownership of the tower changed many times. In 1976, the Higgins family of Detroit purchased part ownership of the tower.
